The NIS AGM 2022 in Ado-Ekiti is addressing the following overall theme:

Mapping Policies Strategies and Spatial Infrastructure Development for Sustainable e-governance in Nigeria

This theme is relevant both for the Nigeria and internationally in a world where dynamics of the Earth affects Spatial Infrastructures, where the sea needs to be better mapped and managed; where land resources need to be protected against sea-level rise; desert encroachment; and where land-based infrastructures are constantly threatened.

The overall theme is built up by the following sub-themes:

  1. Emerging Trends in Geospatial Technologies for Mapping and Monitoring Earth System Dynamics
  2. Emerging Trends in Geospatial Technologies for Infrastructure Mapping, Monitoring and Management.
  3. Emerging Trends in Geospatial Technologies and Infrastructure for Transport Management
  4. Emerging Trends in Geospatial Technologies for Tourism, Mapping and Management
  5. Emerging Trends in Geospatial Technologies for Earth Resources Mapping, Monitoring and Management
  6. Emerging Trends in Geospatial Technologies for Precision Agriculture

  • Notification of Acceptance: Deadline 5 March 2022
  • Submission of Reviewed Full paper: Deadline 31 March 2022
  • AGM/C Ado-Ekiti :  25 – 29  July 2022

Conditions for Acceptance of Full Papers:

The following conditions will guide final acceptance of full papers:

  1. Papers must be well researched, well-written
  2. Full text of papers should be submitted in Microsoft Word, Times Romans 12pts font size, and 1.5 spacing, on A4 size paper, and not more than 14pages, including references.
  3. Full papers are expected to reach the National Secretariat not later than 31 March 2022 through copied to
  4. All authors of accepted or unaccepted papers will be informed in writing not later than 5th March 2022 through their email addresses.
  5. Authors of accepted papers will be required to submit Power Point presentations to the designated email addresses or by flash-drives to the National Secretariat not later than 8th May 2022.

It is important to note that any paper received after the scheduled dates will not be treated, and the Secretariat shall not accept liability for failed email deliveries.

The following are the conditions for acceptance of Abstracts and Full Papers.

AGM Registration Information

Below are current fees for AGM 2022 Registration:

Early Bird – N40,000
Late Registration – N60,000
Student – N15,000
Accompanying Person(s) – N20,000/Person
Non-Members – N60,000

Early Bird Registration ends by 31st May, while Late Registration starts on 1st June.
